Code Of Conduct

Players of all age and abilities are welcome at Bubwith Tennis Club and it is important everyone feels comfortable playing tennis and socialising down at our courts. This code of conduct has been created to ensure that all members comply with certain standards of behaviour.

We ask that all players, parents and guardians read the code of conduct and follow it.

Failure to adhere to the code of conduct could result in the club cancelling the individual’s membership.

All members must:

  • Treat all members and visitors fairly and with respect
  • Help to create a safe and inclusive environment both on and off court
  • Contact the club’s Welfare Officer about any concerns or worries about yourself or others
  • Aid in a sense of community spirit and social camaraderie
  • Ensure the club facilities are safe and tidy, with any potential issues reported to the committee
  • Not use abusive language or behaviour towards anyone else
  • Not abuse club equipment or property
  • Not smoke, drink alcohol or consume drugs on the club premises (smoking is permitted in the car park areas)
  • Only use the floodlights in accordance with planning permission conditions, and should not use them beyond 10pm
  • Respect the privacy and rights of those living in properties neighbouring the club

Parents and guardians must:

  • Recognise outside coaching sessions, junior members remain parents’ responsibility safety and welfare – not the club’s
  • Allow the coach to run their programme free from external pressures or influences
  • Deliver and collect your child punctually
  • Treat all club members and visitors with respect
  • Support their child’s enjoyment of tennis
  • Ensure their child has appropriate clothing for the prevailing weather conditions
  • Behave in a manner that sets a positive example for others
  • Notify the club or coach of any changes to their child’s circumstances which the club should be aware of – including any relevant medical conditions
  • Ensure that their child understands this code of conduct and their responsibilities

Juniors must:

  • Be friendly, supportive and welcoming to other club members
  • Play fairly and honestly
  • Respect club staff and volunteers, and accept their decisions
  • Take care of their equipment and club property
  • Not bully, intimidate or harass anyone, including on social media
