Located in a small East Yorkshire village, Bubwith Tennis Club is a community club near to Selby and Howden – open to all who want to play tennis, whatever their standard of play.
Established in 1963, it has evolved into one of the area’s leading tennis clubs and welcomes members, players from other clubs and visitors.
With three artificial grass courts – one with newly refurbished county standard floodlighting – you can play all year round!
Courts are open between 8am-10pm daily. Please do not use the courts outside of these times.
Open to everyone – all levels of ability welcome
Whether you want to start playing for the first time (perhaps with a little bit of tennis coaching) or whether you are looking for competitive league tennis and tournaments, Bubwith Tennis Club has something to suit everyone.
Social people are catered for too with a regular series of club nights and mornings, plus social events and gatherings throughout the year. There is also our monthly doubles handicap tournament to join in with. The calendar of events gives details on which courts will be in use during these times.
Young tennis players, or children looking to get into a new sport, are extremely welcome. The club is a safe, yet extremely friendly, environment in which to make new friends, learn and develop skills, and, most importantly, have fun. Membership is free for primary school-age children!
The club’s code of conduct ensures that members, visitors and parents/guardians feel welcome and safe.

Upcoming events
Court availability: league fixtures use all three courts, whereas coaching usually uses the North court only. Club Nights, Doubles Handicap Tournaments, and Ladies’ and Men’s practice sessions can use all courts, depending on attendance levels. Tennis Camps use the North and South courts.
Every effort is made to keep the events diary up-to-date, however occasionally matches are re-arranged with little advance notice.
Bubwith Tennis Club is an LTA Registered Venue
Bubwith Tennis Club is registered with the LTA, ensuring that the club maintains high standards throughout. From the conditions of the courts to the provision of a welfare officer, the club and its committee are committed to making tennis accessible to all, safe and enjoyable.
For any issues around safeguarding and welfare, please contact Anna Airaksinen, our LTA qualified Safeguarding Officer.
All members, plus the parent/guardians of junior members, are expected to adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct. You can also download our Safeguarding Code of Conduct poster for your information.
